Job Description:

The Applied Chemistry and Engineering Research center of Excellence (ACER CoE) at UM6P is seeking to appoint a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher possessing a strong academic foundation in catalysis/ separation and chemical/process engineering. The successful candidate will significantly contribute to the conception, synthesis, and evaluation of ?separation/catalytic systems aimed at advancing sustainable chemical processes, including but not restricted to carbon dioxide (CO?) conversion, volatile organic compound (VOC) abatement, and hydrogen production/ storage…... The position requires proficiency in analyzing gas-phase reaction products utilizing gas chromatography and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Additionally, candidates should demonstrate comprehensive expertise in general material synthesis methodologies.

Candidate Profile:


	Hold a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
	Strong experience in separation sciences or ?heterogeneous catalysis and/or photocatalysis.
	Good expertise in the design of adsorption/catalytic reactors.
	Proficient in analytical techniques for adsorbent. catalyst and product characterization.
	Knowledge of process modeling software (e.g., Aspen Plus, COMSOL, or equivalent) is a plus.
	Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
	Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.


Skills:


	Strong expertise in heterogeneous catalysis/adsorption ?fundamentals.
	Skilled in process modeling software.

About Us

We are looking for an enthusiastic medical physics technologist to join our PET imaging team at King’s College London (KCL) & Guy’s and St Thomas’ (GSTT) PET Centre. The Centre is part of both King's College London's School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences (BMEIS) in the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine, and Guy's & St Thomas' National Health Service (NHS) Foundation Trust.?

We run a clinical PET service in parallel with an extensive programme of clinical research. Facilities currently include 2 cyclotrons, radiochemistry labs, 3 PET-CT scanners and a PET-MR scanner.?We have recently installed two state-of-the-art Siemens Quadra Total Body PET-CT scanners. This will be an exciting time to join our team with ample opportunity to contribute to an ambitious programme developing the clinical and research capabilities of the department.

About The Role

The purpose of this post is to provide technical support to the operation of the clinical and research PET scanning activities in the PET Imaging Centre, working as a member of a team of medical physicists.

?Particular aspects of the role will include providing radiation protection support to the department, including the cyclotron/radiochemistry facilities and scanning suites, and taking a day-to-day role in the UK PET Core Lab which provides quality control and data management for PET clinical research trials.

?You should be highly motivated, able to multi-task, work well within a team, and be keen to learn. The position is in a friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary department, with opportunities for involvement in research projects.?

This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:?

Essential criteria


	Minimum level 4 qualification, e.g., higher apprenticeship, HNC or other Level 4 award, plus work experience in relevant technical/scientific posts OR Considerable knowledge and skills gained through work experience in relevant technical or scientific posts
	Experience working in a nuclear medicine or PET imaging department or similar setting
	Knowledge of nuclear medicine technology including sample counters and radiation monitoring equipment
	Good working knowledge of the regulations and best practice for radiation safety in nuclear medicine clinical and laboratory settings
	Computing experience including manipulation and transfer of large datasets
	Clear spoken and written communication skills, with proficient computer use and strong interpersonal and influencing/behavioural skills


Desirable criteria


	Relevant degree
	HCPC or RCT registration
	Experience working as a medical physicist or technologist in a PET imaging department
	Experience of supporting clinical imaging research studies including experience of data collation and management for these studies
	Experience of providing radiation safety support for PET cyclotron/radiochemistry facilities

The Center for Sand Hazards and Opportunities in Resilience, Energy, and Sustainability (SHORES)?and the Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seek to recruit a Postdoctoral?Associate to work on a fascinating project focused on the development machine-learning powered digital twin system for the structural performance of civil engineering structures. The project is a?collaboration between multiple research groups led primarily by Professor Tarek Abdoun and Professor Mostafa Mobasher. It involves a diverse range of activities including: structural and geotechnical modeling, machine-learning model development, structural sensing and health?monitoring, conducting physical experiments, and validation of computational models.

Required Qualifications:

A successful applicant must have a PhD in Civil Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or Mechanical Engineering. Applicants are expected to demonstrate research experience in the fields of structural modeling and machine-learning model development.

Project Overview

You will join an international multidisciplinary team tasked with developing data-driven decision-support tools to decarbonize mobile mining fleets. Focusing on strip-mining operations, your work will evaluate material intralogistics handling alternatives such as trolley-assist systems, battery-electric trucks, and in-pit crushing & conveying (IPCC), combining life-cycle analysis, and dynamic simulation. This research is part of OCP’s Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Mining initiative to achieve net-zero Scope?1 emissions, aligning with the company’s roadmap for sustainable mining operations.

	Literature Survey & Case Definition
	Systematically review decarbonization technologies and cost–benefit frameworks in strip-mining mining.
	Define one or more representative strip-mine case studies; lead data collection and scenario development.



	Techno-Economic & Environmental Assessment
	Model life-cycle costs and greenhouse-gas emissions for IPCC, trolley-assist, battery-electric trucks, etc.
	Perform sensitivity and uncertainty analyses to quantify trade-offs under varying operating conditions.
	Simulation
	Build a dynamic simulation of mine haulage energy flows and storage.
	Validate models in collaboration with industry partners and domain experts.
