Last year¡¯s winning entry, submitted by Ann Wood of the department of biochemistry at King¡¯s College London, involved a food science and technology student who advised a ¡°genital mixing action¡±.

The student who simplified a subject by writing about it ¡°in Lehman¡¯s terms¡±, terminology that initially baffled Iain Woodhouse, senior lecturer in the School of GeoSciences at the University of Edinburgh, came a close second.

Although 91ÇÑ×Ó has already received some strong entries for this year¡¯s competition, academics are being given more time to submit howlers, with the deadline extended to 5pm on 6 July.

The scholar who submits the winning entry this year will receive a magnum of champagne.
