Anthea Rose says the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants is "the only professional accountancy body that has its own technician qualification" (Letters, 91ÇÑ×ÓS, December 3). The Association of Accounting Technicians provides not only a technician qualification but is also a membership body with 100,000 members and students. Our qualification is recognised by all UK professional accountancy bodies for progression purposes.

The AAT has a highly regarded competence-based education and training programme. The ACCA still relies on unseen written exams.
