Vice-chancellors are well represented on the newly appointed panel of National Statistics, an independent commission designed to safeguard the nation's statistics.
Sir Kenneth Calman, Durham University's vice-chancellor, and David Rhind, vice-chancellor and principal of City University, have been appointed alongside John Kingman, former Bristol University vice-chancellor and chairman of the commission.
