More than 100 university and college representatives from public service union Unison met last weekend to discuss the outcome of the Bett report on pay. The union is "bitterly disappointed" that the report failed to introduce a nationally agreed pay spine covering all employees, but it welcomed its recommendations for a better deal for the lowest paid workers.
