Aston University is to launch a pilot scheme to encourage regional businesses to make use of academics to improve innovation in industry.
The Index scheme will award 80 small businesses in the West Midlands innovation vouchers worth ?3,000. These can be used to buy academic expertise from any university in the West Midlands.
Aston will act as a broker to match academic expertise with business needs.
