The Higher Education Statistics Agency's findings for 1996/97 reveal that:
* 52 per cent of students are female, compared with 51 per cent in 1995/96.
* 14.2 per cent of enrolments to engineering and technology degrees were female.
* 19 per cent of enrolments to computer science degrees were female.
