Further education's biggest public-private partnership deal, announced this week, has been hailed by funding chiefs as the future for supporting major redevelopment in the sector.
Canterbury College will move to a new 68-acre campus in September 2002, thanks to a Pounds 40 million initiative that includes about Pounds 10 million from the Norwich Union. The Further Education Funding Council for England put up Pounds 25 million and the college will contribute about Pounds 5 million.
