Helix hero honoured with genome sequence

A US medical school has sequenced the genome of one of the scientists who discovered the double-helix structure of DNA.

Scientists at the Human Genome Sequencing Center at Baylor College of Medicine and scientific instrument company 454 Life Sciences Corporation sequenced the genome of Nobel laureate James Watson. They will give Dr Watson a DVD of his genome sequence. The firm said it was the first time an individual genome had been sequenced for less than $1 million.
