Mappers in second bid

The Wellcome Trust Genome Campus in Cambridgeshire will seek planning permission next week to more than double in size with a view to commercialising research on mapping human and animal genes.

It will be the second time the trust has sought permission to expand on the 50-acre site. The proposals, which would mean a Pounds 100 million investment, were turned down last year following a public inquiry sparked by the local council's concerns about the impact on the environment.
