Public not so anti-GM

The government's public debate about genetic modification overestimated the strength of anti-GM feeling in the UK, new research has found. Researchers at Cardiff University, the University of East Anglia and the Institute of Food Research concluded that last year's "GM Nation?" debate was insufficiently resourced in terms of time, money and expertise. A Mori poll on GM food and crops found that 36 per cent of the British public were against GM food, with almost four in ten people describing themselves as neither for nor against.
