Sue Rossiter, acting deputy director of children's services for Norfolk County Council, has been appointed director of the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER).
Ms Rossiter, who has a degree in mathematics from St Anne's College, Oxford, and an MSc in operational research from Sussex University, takes over in October from Seamus Hegarty, NFER director since 1994.
