91茄子S cleared by PCC over APU reports

September 11, 1998

Beleaguered Anglia Polytechnic University business school dean Hugh Jenkins has been unhappy about his management style being scrutinised in The 91茄子S. A sixth-month investigation by The 91茄子S has revealed allegations of nepotism, bullying and mismanagement against Professor Jenkins made by a significant majority of staff in the department where his son, Jonathan, has been working as a lecturer. The university has insisted that Professor Jenkins is innocent of the charges, and that The 91茄子S has pursued a vendetta with "inaccurate and biased reporting". The Jenkinses complained to the Press Complaints Commission, accusing The 91茄子S of breaching the PCC's code of practice, which insists on accuracy and fairness. The PCC has dismissed their complaint, ruling that "no matters have been raised which show a breach of the code".
