Women are much less happy about the new coalition government than men, a poll of political experts has found. The survey of 100 academic scholars, researchers and pollsters attending the Elections, Public Opinion and Parties Conference at the University of Essex, also revealed that far more men than women (62 per cent compared with 42 per cent) thought that David Miliband should be the next leader of the Labour Party. Only half of the experts thought the coalition government would last five years with 35 per cent giving it two years and 17 per cent just one. Nearly half supported the introduction of the Alternative Vote electoral system.
