University of Liverpool - Joint first

The first students to graduate from a UK university's joint-venture campus in China have picked up their degrees. A ceremony was held in China for graduates of Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, established in partnership with the University of Liverpool four years ago. Sir Howard Newby, Liverpool's vice-chancellor, said the graduates "have uniquely benefited from a truly international education". Youmin Xi, director of the board of Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool, said it was "the first time that students anywhere in China will graduate from a Sino-UK university with both Chinese and British degrees".
