A taster course in secondary school maths teaching for prospective PGCE students is planned by the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, and the Open University.
Called "open distance learning", the course is aimed at graduates of maths-orientated subjects. The Higher Education Funding Council for Wales is funding the course to help improve maths teacher recruitment.
