About the Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering (CBS)

The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering Department (CBS) is a component of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). The main objective of CBS is to set up a distinctive research-teaching program, of international level, to meet the research and teaching challenges of UM6P, in particular on green and environmental chemistry applied to all aspects of chemical sciences: organic and inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical biology, biochemical and thermal reactions.

Research at CBS is organized around several major areas, which aim to answer challenging industrial questions, from complex chemical and biochemical reactions to scale-up and validation of process engineering. CBS projects aim at developing in-depth understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying all chemical transformations in order to propose original, and innovative alternatives promoting efficiency, environmental friendliness and sustainability.

Job Description

As a core component of UM6P, the CBS Department aspires to lead research and teaching at the forefront of innovation. Our scope encompasses green and environmental chemistry across diverse domains: organic and inorganic chemistry, polymer chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical biology, chemical and biochemical processes, and thermal reactions. Research endeavors at CBS blend deep molecular insights with practical applications, aiming to introduce novel, efficient, and sustainable alternatives.

CBS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral researcher to join our faculty as an Assistant- Professor in Process Systems Engineering. The successful candidate will contribute to CBS's Department, and consequently UM6P's commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and innovation by engaging in cutting-edge research, delivering high-quality instruction, and actively participating in the development of innovative solutions in the fields of Process Systems Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

Research Excellence: Drive pioneering research in process systems engineering, with a focus on first principles and data-driven modeling, simulation and optimization with strong and permanent interactions with experiments. Integrate artificial intelligence (i.e. machine, deep and reinforcement learning…) to optimize efficiency, improve safety, reduce costs and promote sustainability. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to uncover a large variety of chemical and biochemical processes, and advance green and high-performance chemical transformations.

Teaching and Mentorship: Develop and deliver high-impact courses in chemical engineering, focusing on process systems engineering at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Employ innovative pedagogical approaches to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and engineering skills in students.

Research Funding: Actively seek external funding opportunities to support research initiatives aligned with UM6P's mission. Lead collaborative efforts to prepare grant proposals, secure resources, and drive impactful research projects.

Assistant Professor (Computer Science) (25260312)

The appointees will perform high-impact research, teach and supervise students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and contribute to professional and institutional services. Collaboration with other faculty members in research and teaching is also expected. They will be encouraged to collaborate with colleagues within the Department to contribute to two special thematic applications including (a) health informatics and (b) security and privacy-aware computing, and to pursue new strategic research initiatives under the Department/Faculty/University.?

The University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM) invites applications for a full-time academic scholar in Small Animal Surgery and Surgical Skills. Depending on qualifications and career track expectations, the appointment will be made at the rank of Assistant Professor (Teaching) (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (Teaching) (with tenure).

The anticipated start date is March 1, 2026, or a mutually agreed upon date.

This successful applicant will teach in the undergraduate program with an emphasis on basic and general surgical skills with an emphasis on participating in small animal surgery.

We are looking for additional faculty to join our team for our expanded class size. Teaching will be the main focus of this position and will include didactic, clinical and professional skills laboratories, and 4th year rotation teaching in the DVM program. Clinical and teaching duties in addition to basic surgery instruction will be assigned based on needs of the program. UCVM employs a distributed veterinary teaching hospital and clinical duties, and rotation teaching will occur in partner practices and other practice settings. Service will be 10-20% of assigned duties pending rank.

Requirements

Qualifications must include a DVM (or equivalent) and advanced clinical training in surgery (such as extensive continuing education, surgery internship or residency). Board certification (ACVS or ECVS in small or large animal) is considered an asset but is not a requirement. A graduate degree in clinical or educational research is considered an asset. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in the Province of Alberta as a general practice registered veterinarian.


	Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor (Teaching) normally requires evidence or promise of teaching effectiveness or competency in teaching and learning, an awareness of how to apply scholarly approaches to teaching and learning practices, participation in reflective practice, and professional learning activities related to teaching and learning. Commitment to, or experience with, defining learning goals, supporting student learning activities and engagement, and creating assessment strategies may also be required. Engagement in the research and scholarship required to maintain currency in pedagogy and curriculum design of the relevant discipline or field as well as engaging in other scholarly professional or creative activities that strengthens and informs the academic staff member’s knowledge base and expertise is required.
	Appointment at the rank of Associate Professor (Teaching), in addition to the requirements of an Assistant Professor (Teaching), requires evidence of teaching effectiveness, a demonstrated ability to apply scholarly approaches to teaching and learning and student engagement, to design student learning experiences and assessment strategies grounded in a clearly articulated teaching philosophy, and to engage in scholarly, professional, or creative activities. Continuous development and demonstration of a scholarly foundation for designing and implementing innovative teaching and that supports student learning, ability to create respectful and inclusive learning environments that promote student engagement, participate in learning activities, networks and communities, and engagement in reflective practice to adjust and strengthen ones teaching, learning and assessment practices is required.

About the Sustainable Materials Research Center (SusMat - RC)

The Sustainable Materials Research Center (SusMat - RC) is a multidisciplinary research center engaged in the development of advanced biobased products and materials thereof using biotechnological, physical and chemical conversion strategies and engineering processes (b) understanding and controlling their underlying specific functionalities and the structure-properties relationship acting over multiple length scales from the molecular, nano to the macro level and their cross-interactions and (c) utilizing the gathered knowledge and the invented materials to address key technological challenges in Morocco and African continent and assist the transition toward a green and circular economy.

Job Description

The Sustainable Materials Research Center (SUSMAT-RC) at UM6P invites applications for a faculty position in Chemistry, Polymer Science, and Materials Science. Applicants with expertise in, but not limited to, Interface and Colloid Science, Emulsions, Coatings, Encapsulation, Surface Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, and Molecular and Nanoscale Science are particularly invited to apply. The successful candidate will plan, develop and conduct applied research projects dedicated to Interfaces and Colloids in green chemistry and chemical engineering focusing on the synthesis, processing, and testing of new biobased monomers, polymers, and materials. As a rapidly growing research center, an ideal candidate for this role will be self-motivated, organized, and able to work in ambiguous and changeable situations. A minimum experience of 5 years after the completion of the PhD is required to be eligible for this position.

Key Duties

The successful candidate is expected to have:


	Lead all aspects related to Interfaces and Colloids Science within SUSMAT – RC.
	Transfer the knowledge and findings related to interfaces and colloids to researchers at UM6P, external clients and/or collaborators when required.
	Collaborate with SUSMAT – RC researchers through the identification and development of new concepts to be applied to sustainable materials and derivatives and their industrial applications thereof.
	Design and teach advanced courses related to interfacial chemistry, emulsions, colloids and interfaces for the benefit of Master and PhD students at UM6P,
	Assist in the delivery of engineering solutions to enable the rapid evolution of applied research through the various TRL levels to development and manufacturing (TRL 3-9).
	Work with members of SUSMAT – RC, other faculty members, companies, and different consortia to identify concepts to rapidly test and translate research innovations to products and/or processes for commercialization.
	Collaborate with other members of SUSMAT – RC in writing manuscripts for publication, filing patents, and developing research proposals to expand research programs consistent with the strategic vision of the center.
	Assist in the management and administration of the SUSMAT – RC. This activity may include several components, notably (a) collect, analyze, and summarize scientific literature relevant to a given project/technology, (b) develop specific sections in relevant areas of expertise for a given proposal, (c) coordinate the organization of proposal applications in specific area of expertise.
	Co-supervise research progress of graduate students and/or postdoctoral fellows. This activity entails regular discussion with group members to ensure they are making progress in their R&D investigations notably in the candidate’s area of expertise.
	Discuss with the director any challenges and roadblocks and ensure that the proposed solutions are implemented and followed upon.
	Work with universities, companies, and different consortia to lead groundbreaking R&D for next generation sustainable materials.
	Effectively communicate in English (verbally and in writing) to disseminate knowledge to group members, clients, and collaborators and/or to represent the SUSMAT – RC at conferences, meetings, and/or workshops.
	Proactively engage in collaborative R&D by providing solutions and demonstrating the potential of polymer science and engineering in addressing important Moroccan technology challenges.


Candidate Criteria

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:


	Educational background:

	
		Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Colloids and Interfaces Science, Soft Matter, or a closely related field
	
	
	Experience and Skills:
	
		At least 5 years of professional experience including post-doctoral with recognized expertise in Colloids and Interfaces Science, and industrial experience would be a strong asset.
		Demonstrated skills in Interface and Colloid Science, Emulsions, Coatings, Surface Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, and Molecular and Nanoscale Science.
		In-depth knowledge of material rheology is essential
		Good experience with (bio)polymer chemistry, nanocomposite science, and processing of (bio)polymers and (bio)composites.
		Demonstrated ability to effectively develop, lead and maintain research programs.
		Good teaching experience with the capacity to develop new courses and connect research to teaching (learning by doing) is desirable.
		Good experience in the supervision of students from the M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs.
		Good leadership and project management skills in driving the full project trajectory from conceptualization to implementation by applying managerial and scientific principles,
		Evidence of collaboration with peers at national and/or international institutions,
		Familiarity with the institutional and industrial ecosystem of Morocco,
		First-hands experience in entrepreneurship, in launching technology start-ups including essential elements such as prototyping/product visualization and early-stage venture funding would be a strong asset,
		First-hands experience in entrepreneurship or evidence of participation in entrepreneurial programs.

About the ISVR and the University of Southampton

The ISVR has been at the forefront of sound and vibration research and education since its inception more than 60 years ago. The Institute has built an international reputation through pioneering academic research, strong and enduring collaborations with industry, and generations of graduates who have spread throughout the acoustics profession. The ISVR has excellent experimental facilities including anechoic and reverberation chambers, a 6-axis motion simulator and multiple audio focused laboratories. In addition, we are currently making substantial investments to refurbish our audio research and teaching facilities.?
