Job Description:

The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Department is seeking applicants for Assistant professor position in computational research in interface chemical reactions to join our research team focused on studying reaction mechanisms and materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in modeling and simulation of atomic and molecular structures, along with extensive experience in analyzing the electronic and structural properties of materials. The position requires extensive knowledge in performing quantum mechanical calculations (e.g., first principles density functional theory (DFT)) to elucidate complex reaction mechanisms occurring at the surface of various materials.

Key Responsibilities:


	Perform quantum mechanical calculations (DFT) for establishing reaction mechanisms and kinetics
	Develop and apply advanced computational models to predict the chemical and physical behaviours of materials
	Collaborate with experimental teams to interpret results and guide future experiments.
	Publish research findings in high-impact scientific journals and present at international conferences
	Mentor and train students and junior researchers


Required Qualifications


	Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
	Minimum of 3 to 5 years of postdoctoral experience or equivalent in using DFT for studying reaction mechanisms and materials.
	Demonstrated programming skills (Python, Fortran, C++).
	Proven track record of publishing scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.

Assistant Professor (Computer Science) (25260312)

The appointees will perform high-impact research, teach and supervise students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and contribute to professional and institutional services. Collaboration with other faculty members in research and teaching is also expected. They will be encouraged to collaborate with colleagues within the Department to contribute to two special thematic applications including (a) health informatics and (b) security and privacy-aware computing, and to pursue new strategic research initiatives under the Department/Faculty/University.?

The Student Conduct & Appeals Manager is responsible for the management of a case load of referrals made to the Student Conduct and Appeals ranging from academic appeals, complaints and misconduct to fitness to practise and support for study processes. They are primarily responsible for investigating and bringing to resolution cases that have been referred to Student Conduct & Appeals as well as clerking the various committees and panels which are involved in the processes dealt with by the team.?

The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering Department (CBS) is a of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P).
