The role:?We are currently seeking?full-time Study Skills Lecturers who will work??in close collaboration with subject lecturers to develop and teach study skills within the curriculum across a range of HE programmes from Foundation to Masters’ Level?as part of our BSU, UoS and OBU partnerships.?This includes for example, improving English language and numeracy, organisational and presentation skills, digital literacy and basic IT skills, reading, writing and higher order research skills. Due to our delivery model, we require flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings and at weekends.

What you'll be doing:


	Designing/documenting bespoke courses, digital resources, workshop plans and individual schemes of work as required to develop study skills in the curricula
	Delivering/evaluating teaching and identifying areas for potential improvement to?enhance the quality of teaching, learning and overall student experience in accordance with the?GBS’s Learning and Teaching strategy
	Providing feedback on individual and class progress in their understanding of academic writing and other relevant study skills
	Providing?tutorial consultations with students, constructive comments individual to each student's need, explaining where work fails to meet assessment criteria and suggesting ways to improve their work / working practices
	Recording details from these appointments for statistical, evaluation and quality purposes, and to refer students to other services as appropriate
	Effectively engaging with VLE and research resources and facilitate students’ learning by means of engagement with online resources and activities.

About You:?


	You will hold a Master's degree in relevant subject area (PhD desirable)?
	You will have previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area
	You will have successful track record of teaching adult learners from diverse backgrounds on HE programmes
	You will have proven experience of providing individual and group study skills support in response to identified learning needs
	You will be willing to lead a specific area of literacy development, such as reading, writing, critical thinking, numeracy, digital skills, research skills (quantitative or qualitative), project and dissertation support, peer-assisted learning;
	You will be able to demonstrate a high level of digital literacy and advanced communication skills

About the Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering (CBS)

The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering Department (CBS) is a component of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). The main objective of CBS is to set up a distinctive research-teaching program, of international level, to meet the research and teaching challenges of UM6P, in particular on green and environmental chemistry applied to all aspects of chemical sciences: organic and inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical biology, biochemical and thermal reactions.

Research at CBS is organized around several major areas, which aim to answer challenging industrial questions, from complex chemical and biochemical reactions to scale-up and validation of process engineering. CBS projects aim at developing in-depth understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying all chemical transformations in order to propose original, and innovative alternatives promoting efficiency, environmental friendliness and sustainability.

Job Description

As a core component of UM6P, the CBS Department aspires to lead research and teaching at the forefront of innovation. Our scope encompasses green and environmental chemistry across diverse domains: organic and inorganic chemistry, polymer chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical biology, chemical and biochemical processes, and thermal reactions. Research endeavors at CBS blend deep molecular insights with practical applications, aiming to introduce novel, efficient, and sustainable alternatives.

CBS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral researcher to join our faculty as an Assistant- Professor in Chemical Engineering. This project is an interdisciplinary project at the University of Southampton exploring how artificial intelligence (specifically LLMs) can enhance scientific research and data management. The project brings together expertise from chemistry, computer science, and engineering to develop innovative tools that make laboratory work more connected, efficient and intelligent. Through the project, we want to achieve the following:


	Understand the landscape of Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) interoperability
	Enhance the interoperability of ELN and data services
	Integrate AI tools directly into ELN workflows
	Use LLM assistants to capture, retrieve and interpret experimental data
	Develop reproducible, open and FAIR digital research practices


We are looking for an enthusiastic applicant with a strong understanding of both laboratory practice and digital systems to lead a new strand of work focused on ELN interoperability and the development of an AI-powered LLM assistant tool to support researchers in data capture, retrieval and management.

The post holder will review the interoperability of existing ELN platforms, identify opportunities for improved data exchange, and develop prototype tools and services that integrate AI-driven assistance into ELN workflows. This will involve close collaboration with research groups, institutions and technical partners to ensure that solutions are practical, scalable and aligned with the needs of the research community.

Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications in a STEM subject, or have extensive experience working in a laboratory or research data environment. They must also have demonstrable experience developing and running AI or LLM-based tools, and in building interoperable software or online services. The University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM) invites applications for a full-time academic scholar in Small Animal Surgery and Surgical Skills. Depending on qualifications and career track expectations, the appointment will be made at the rank of Assistant Professor (Teaching) (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (Teaching) (with tenure).

The anticipated start date is March 1, 2026, or a mutually agreed upon date.

This successful applicant will teach in the undergraduate program with an emphasis on basic and general surgical skills with an emphasis on participating in small animal surgery.

We are looking for additional faculty to join our team for our expanded class size. Teaching will be the main focus of this position and will include didactic, clinical and professional skills laboratories, and 4th year rotation teaching in the DVM program. Clinical and teaching duties in addition to basic surgery instruction will be assigned based on needs of the program. UCVM employs a distributed veterinary teaching hospital and clinical duties, and rotation teaching will occur in partner practices and other practice settings. Service will be 10-20% of assigned duties pending rank.

Requirements

Qualifications must include a DVM (or equivalent) and advanced clinical training in surgery (such as extensive continuing education, surgery internship or residency). Board certification (ACVS or ECVS in small or large animal) is considered an asset but is not a requirement. A graduate degree in clinical or educational research is considered an asset. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in the Province of Alberta as a general practice registered veterinarian.


	Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor (Teaching) normally requires evidence or promise of teaching effectiveness or competency in teaching and learning, an awareness of how to apply scholarly approaches to teaching and learning practices, participation in reflective practice, and professional learning activities related to teaching and learning. Commitment to, or experience with, defining learning goals, supporting student learning activities and engagement, and creating assessment strategies may also be required. Engagement in the research and scholarship required to maintain currency in pedagogy and curriculum design of the relevant discipline or field as well as engaging in other scholarly professional or creative activities that strengthens and informs the academic staff member’s knowledge base and expertise is required.
	Appointment at the rank of Associate Professor (Teaching), in addition to the requirements of an Assistant Professor (Teaching), requires evidence of teaching effectiveness, a demonstrated ability to apply scholarly approaches to teaching and learning and student engagement, to design student learning experiences and assessment strategies grounded in a clearly articulated teaching philosophy, and to engage in scholarly, professional, or creative activities.
