Are you passionate about biosecurity and education? Charles Sturt University is currently seeking a Business Manager to support the Biosecurity Training Centre (BTC) and Registered Training Organisation.

As the Business Manager, you will work directly with the BTCs Academic Director to provide strategic management and coordination of student support, governance, administrative, and financial functions. You will ensure that BTCs operations are compliant with relevant legislation, policies, and processes, demonstrating sound practice and process. Your strategic advisory and management responsibilities will extend to the BTC budget, and administrative and student support staff. Additionally, you will provide strategic advice and contribute to relevant BTC working groups and executive leadership committees.

About you


	A relevant degree in business management, education or related field
	Proven experience in strategic business management, preferably within an educational or training environment
	Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage budgets and staff effectively

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Higher Education Quality function at University College Birmingham. You will be managing the HE Quality Team and overseeing the quality of curriculum processes, developments and enhancements in collaboration with academic departments and support services. You will ensure that our provision meets regulatory expectations, including OfS conditions as well as providing an excellent student experience through an inclusive curriculum.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCES


	PhD degree in computer science, information science, electronics, networking and communications, systems engineering or a closely aligned discipline to the Internet of Things; or be able to demonstrate an equivalent professional practice and engagement.
	Self-motivated for innovative teaching with knowledge of relevant developments in learning and teaching practices.
	Familiar with current developments in research with ability to identify appropriate research options, methods and theoretical perspectives. Knowledge of best practice in research methodology.
	Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills enabling effective interaction internally and externally.
	A commitment to Continual Professional Development in all areas of the role as an academic at the university.
	Ability to work, teach and research in English
	Strong team-work spirit.


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE


	A good track record of engagement with business and industry.
	University-level teaching experience.
	Relevant industry experience.
	Appropriate research experience, including working with industry, for the corresponding academic position level.
	Experience in intensive teaching and problem-based learning, and a willingness to be innovative in teaching practices.
	An institutional builder, able to work with wider disciplines across the college.

About the role

The Learning Technology Officer will support the implementation of Digital Education initiatives at the Centre for International Education and Languages (CIEL), which includes King’s Language Centre, King’s Foundations, and King’s Summer. CIEL comprises around 250 academic and professional services staff and teaches over 12,000 students each year.?

This role provides practical, hands-on support for the use of digital learning technologies across the Centre. The postholder will assist with the setup and design of KEATS (Moodle VLE), contribute to the creation and maintenance of digital learning materials, and support staff and students in the effective use of digital tools such as Turnitin and Kaltura. They will also contribute to training delivery, process improvement, and the evaluation of digital education practices.?

The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering an inclusive, forward-thinking digital learning environment that enhances both student and staff experiences through consistent, accessible, and engaging use of technology.

This is a full time, and you will be offered an indefinite ?contract.

About you
