About the ISVR and the University of Southampton

The ISVR has been at the forefront of sound and vibration research and education since its inception more than 60 years ago. The Institute has built an international reputation through pioneering academic research, strong and enduring collaborations with industry, and generations of graduates who have spread throughout the acoustics profession. The ISVR has excellent experimental facilities including anechoic and reverberation chambers, a 6-axis motion simulator and multiple audio focused laboratories. In addition, we are currently making substantial investments to refurbish our audio research and teaching facilities.?

The ISVR is part of the School of Engineering at the University of Southampton, which is one of the UK’s most dynamic centres for engineering research. The School has an excellent record of collaborative research with industry and academic institutions in the UK and abroad.?

About CBS Department:

The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering Department (CBS) is an entity of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). The main objective of CBS is to set up a distinctive research-teaching program of international level, to meet the research and teaching challenges of UM6P, in particular on green chemistry applied to all aspects of chemical sciences: organic and inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical biology, biochemical and thermal reactions.

Research at CBS is organized around several major areas, which aim to answer challenging industrial questions, from complex chemical and biochemical reactions to scale-up and validation of process engineering. CBS projects aim at an in-depth understanding of the molecular mechanisms of all transformations in order to propose new original alternatives in terms of efficiency, environmental friendliness and sustainability.

Research Activities


	Develop an independent research program focused on crop nutrition, soil fertility, and plant physiology.
	Secure research funding by preparing and submitting competitive grant proposals.
	Contribute to innovation through the development and filing of patents.
	Disseminate research findings through publication in peer-reviewed journals.


Teaching activities


	Supervise graduate students conducting master's or PhD research in crop nutrition, soil fertility, plant physiology, or related disciplines.
	Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in agronomy, plant nutrition, and soil science.
	Develop and update course materials to reflect current research and advancements in the field.


Academic and Industry Partnerships


	Build collaborative relationships with academic colleagues, research centers, and industry stakeholders to support interdisciplinary research in soil fertility, crop nutrition, and plant physiology.
	Engage with industry partners to ensure research initiatives address practical agricultural challenges, promoting the application and transfer of innovative technologies. ?


Required Qualifications


	PhD in Agronomy with a focus on Soil Fertility and Crop Physiology. Strong foundation in plant-soil interactions, nutrient management, and crop physiological processes.
	More than 5 years of experience in research and academic settings (Postdoctoral research, and/or relevant industry or university positions).
	Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research in soil fertility, crop nutrition, and plant physiology, with a proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
	Experience teaching undergraduate or graduate courses in agronomy, soil science, plant physiology, or related fields (including roles as a teaching assistant or course instructor).
	A commitment to pedagogical innovation and the ability to mentor and engage students through active and research-based learning.?

Job Description

CBS Department is seeking a dynamic and qualified individual to fill the position of Professor in Plasma Science and Engineering. The successful candidate should have strong experimental and theoretical expertise in plasma physics and its applications in fields such plasma-assisted chemical reactions, chemical kinetics, energy, plasma-reagent interactions, plasma processing for industrial applications. modeling and simulation of plasma dynamics.

Research: Conduct high-impact research in the field of low-temperature plasmas: plasma processing, plasma chemistry, and industrial applications. collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address real-world challenges and contribute to the development of novel solutions. Secure external funding for research projects and publish research findings in reputable international journals.

Teaching: Design and deliver engaging and innovative courses related to plasma physics at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Foster an interactive and inclusive learning environment that promotes critical thinking and student engagement. Mentor students in research projects and provide academic guidance.

Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues within the department and across other relevant disciplines to promote interdisciplinary research and initiatives. Engage in external collaborations with industry partners, research institutions, and organizations to enhance the impact of research

Candidate Criteria


	PhD degree in plasma physics or related fields. Both chemists and physicists are encouraged to apply.
	Research Excellence: A strong track record of high-quality research demonstrated through publications in reputable international journals, patents, active participation in research projects, and securing research funding.
	Teaching Experience: Prior experience in teaching and curriculum development, preferably at the university level. A commitment to innovative teaching methodologies and fostering interactive learning environments.
