The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at PolyU enjoys a high international reputation in conducting world-class research for societal benefits and has well established partnerships with the industry and government agencies in Hong Kong and beyond. Duties

The appointees will be required to:

(a) teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in related disciplines;

(b) conduct impactful research that leads to publications in high-quality refereed journals and external grants, and generates meaningful societal impact and addresses pressing real-world challenges;

(c) undertake research, programme / curriculum development and administration;

(d) supervise student projects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;

(e) engage in industrial and scholarly research / consultancy activities;

(f) undertake academic and departmental administrative duties;

(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a PhD in Engineering or Science, specialising in Environmental Science and/or Engineering or a related field;

(b) a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research, with demonstrated experience in the application of innovative approaches, including but not limited to AI or data science, in environmental contexts;

(c) strong records of high-quality research, publications, and scholarship in environmental science, environmental engineering, circular carbon technology, nature-based solutions, AI applications in environmental research solutions, AI-driven approaches, or related areas;

(d) good networking ability and excellent potential to become a world-leading scholar;

(e) excellent communication skills and the ability to use English as the medium of instruction;

(f)? strong interdisciplinary research vision that promotes collaboration and synergy with our existing faculty.

Applicants for appointment at the Chair Professor level should have an outstanding record of global leadership and research achievement in the community, in addition to substantial years of relevant post-qualification experience.

Applicants for appointment at the Professor or Associate Professor level should have a substantial number of years of experience and an excellent record of relevant academic and/or research achievement in the specified field. Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Appointees under the Strategic Hiring Scheme will be offered a start-up grant of not less than HK$3 million to support research activities (including the admission of PhD students, purchasing of equipment, and hiring of research staff) in the initial three years. Initial appointment for Assistant Professor will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. About You:


	You will hold a Master's degree in relevant subject area (PhD desirable)?

The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering Department (CBS) is a of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). The main objective of CBS is to set up a distinctive research-teaching program of international level, in order to meet the research and teaching challenges of UM6P, in particular on green and environmental chemistry applied to all aspects of chemical sciences: organic and inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical biology, biochemical and thermal reactions.

Research at CBS is organized around several major areas, which aim to answer challenging industrial questions, from complex chemical and biochemical reactions to scale-up and validation of process engineering. CBS is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our faculty as a Professor in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR) and Structural Chemistry. Research Associate / Senior Research Assistant in Social Media and Psychological Well-Being (25260311)

Applications are invited for a full-time position as Research Associate or Senior Research Assistant in the field of social media and psychological well-being.

Responsibilities:


	Assist in a meta-analytic research project on social media and well-being, including conducting systematic literature searches, screening relevant studies, extracting and calculating effect sizes, coding study characteristics, and analysing data;
	Conduct literature reviews and assist in the development of grant proposals; and
	Provide administrative and operational support such as preparing reports and summaries.


Requirements:


	A PhD degree in psychology, communication, public health, statistics, or a related discipline; or a master’s degree with relevant research experience;
	Proficiency in data analysis using statistical software such as SPSS or R;
	Strong analytical skills and excellent written English;
	Self-motivated, well-organised, and able to work independently as well as within a team; and
	Preference will be given to applicants with experience in conducting systematic literature searches, especially systematic reviews and/or meta-analyses.


The appointment will commence from January 2026 for up to 12 months, renewable subject to performance, mutual agreement, and funding availability.
