The University of Piraeus, located in the port city of Piraeus near Athens, was founded in 1938 as the School for Industrial Studies.
It is Greece¡¯s second-oldest business school and home to the country¡¯s oldest finance department. Over the years, the university has expanded to focus primarily on business management, economics, finance, computer science and maritime studies.
Today, the university is organised into 10 departments within four schools: Economics, Business and International Studies; Finance and Statistics; Maritime and Industrial Studies; and Information and Communication Technologies.
Undergraduate degrees typically last four years, while postgraduate programmes include a variety of MSc courses and an Executive MBA, some offered in English.
The University of Piraeus has a research centre that supports its teaching and takes part in international programmes like Erasmus+.
It works closely with businesses, including the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels and the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
